A diverse six-day birthday programme will run from Tuesday through Sunday, 13–18 October 2026, and everyone is invited to take part in the celebrations.
The schedule includes guided tours, image lectures, programming related to public art, a poetry concert, family programming, an art-themed quiz and a Futuro-related film screening curated by Mika Taanila.
The celebrations begin on Tuesday 13 October, the date on which exactly 20 years will have passed since the doors of Exhibition Centre WeeGee opened. On the actual birthday, the sites will offer coffee and cake to the first 100 visitors, while admission will be free from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The birthday arrangements therefore include both a refreshment offering limited to the first visitors and a specified period of free entry.
For two decades, Exhibition Centre WeeGee, EMMA—the Espoo Museum of Modern Art—and KAMU—the Espoo City Museum—have welcomed the public to enjoy art, history and design in Tapiola, Espoo. Those three names refer to the exhibition centre and its museums identified in the anniversary information.
The programme on the first day focuses particularly on WeeGee House and its iconic concrete-brutalist architecture. That opening-day focus places the building itself and its architectural character at the centre of the first day’s programme.
