Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will present 'Keith Haring in 3D' from June 6, 2026, through January 25, 2027, in the Johnny Mike Walker Gallery in Bentonville. The museum describes the exhibition as the first to highlight Keith Haring’s work in three dimensions, shifting attention to an aspect of his practice that has often been overshadowed by his better-known drawings, murals and graphic imagery.
According to the museum, the exhibition invites visitors to move through, around and within Haring’s art. It focuses on a body of work that began with objects Haring found in the street and painted, before expanding into wood and metal sculptures and even a dedicated store for his art. Crystal Bridges says Haring’s three-dimensional work has rarely been shown and has never before been the focus of a major exhibition.
The show presents Haring as an artist active across multiple forms, from painting and sculpture to installation, video, murals, performance, printmaking and early digital art. The museum notes that he helped define the look and mood of the 1980s while also imagining a future that has since become the present. In this exhibition, the emphasis is on how his instinct for line and composition carried into objects that occupy space as well as image.
The checklist spans sculpture, totems, masks, skateboards, clothing, boomboxes, paintings, drawings and a 1963 Buick Special. Images listed on the exhibition page include 'Untitled (black and white TV)' from 1986, 'Untitled' from 1983, 'Untitled' from 1987, 'Untitled (Elephant)' from 1985, 'Robot' from 1983, and 'Untitled' from 1986 painted on the Buick Special. The museum says the range is meant to fill a gap in public understanding of Haring’s sculptural practice.
The exhibition is accompanied by a major book published by Phaidon/Monacelli. Crystal Bridges also lists related programming tied to the exhibition, including an exhibition tour on Aug. 1 and 'WOW: Keith Haring in 3D' on Sept. 2. Exhibition tickets are priced at $15, free for members, with additional entry information noting that the ticket provides access to both 'Keith Haring in 3D' and 'America 250: Common Threads'.
'Keith Haring in 3D' opens in the museum’s temporary exhibition gallery during a summer and fall season that also includes 'America 250: Common Threads', which runs in the South Exhibition Gallery through July 27, 2026. Crystal Bridges’ July newsletter places the Haring exhibition under its “On View” section, identifying it as open in the museum’s new temporary exhibition gallery and highlighting it as a chance to experience Haring’s three-dimensional work in a new setting.
