'Future Fashion' is scheduled to run at the Kornhausforum’s Stadtsaal from 27 November 2026 to 7 February 2027. Its vernissage is scheduled for 26 November at 18:30.
The exhibition examines the present and future of fashion through the question of how clothing can be rethought in a period defined by overproduction, digital acceleration and ecological strain. In Switzerland, each person buys 15 kilograms of garments annually, and approximately 25% of those garments are never worn.
The exhibition is divided into three chapters. The first addresses practical, community-based circular models of upcycling and recycling; the second considers digital infrastructures and new forms of ownership; the final chapter turns to speculative designs for bodies and materials, where fashion becomes image, interface and imagination.
Upcycling ateliers, lending models, phygital applications and digital experiments change fashion’s production, use and design while extending them through new ideas. The main hall is set to show large-scale multimedia installations.
'Future Fashion' is curated by Nicolas Kerksieck and Miriam Edmunds, with Vanda Szabo serving as curatorial assistant.
