The Ohara Art Foundation will hold its 96th-anniversary and Shuji Takashina memorial symposium, ‘Pierre Soulages: France and Japan.’ The event’s Japanese title is ‘Regarding Pierre Soulages—France and Japan.’

Christian Heck will participate in the symposium. He served as a senior fellow in medieval iconography at the Institut Universitaire de France and maintained an association with the painter Pierre Soulages for 40 years. The event listing also identifies Heck as an emeritus professor of Lille 3 University.

Atsushi Miura is listed as moderator. Miura is director of the Ohara Art Research Institute, while the listed format includes simultaneous interpretation for Heck’s participation. The symposium therefore identifies Heck and Hayashi as participants and Miura as the person responsible for moderating the discussion.
