The Lenhardt Lecture | Jeffrey Gibson in Conversation with Candice Hopkins is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at 6:30 pm. Gibson will appear in conversation with Candice Hopkins, the executive director and chief curator of Forge Project. The event is identified as the fall Lenhardt Lecture.

Gibson is a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and of Cherokee descent.

The lecture will address Gibson’s multidisciplinary practice, which synthesizes Indigenous traditions and aesthetics with contemporary culture and global histories. He is widely recognized as one of the leading contemporary American artists working today and has earned international recognition for his multidisciplinary practice.

Hopkins’s writing and curatorial practice explore the intersections of history, contemporary art and Indigeneity.
