'Cecilia Vicuña: Living Threads' opens on 7 October 2026 and runs through 14 February 2027. The exhibition is described as Vicuña’s first major UK exhibition.
A ticketed artist talk and exhibition preview is scheduled for Tuesday 6 October, from 5 to 7pm. The extensive presentation spans six decades of Vicuña’s practice.
The exhibition includes 'Quipu Menstrual', an installation of unspun wool suspended from the ceiling. It also includes never-before-seen works and documents from Vicuña’s time in London in the 1970s.
Vicuña was born in 1948 in Santiago, Chile, and is described as an artist, poet and eco-feminist activist. She is also described as one of Latin America’s most internationally renowned artists, poets and feminist activists.
