Paul Cézanne, 1904

The highlighted work is Paul Cézanne’s ‘Harlequin’, dated 1888–1890. Cézanne was a French Post-Impressionist painter whose work introduced new modes of representation and influenced avant-garde artistic movements of the early 20th century.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s ‘Anemones’ is currently on display. The work is dated to around 1883–1890.

The exhibition will be organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Hammer Museum and Asahi Shimbun.

Harvard Art Museums has announced an in-depth tour of ‘On Location: Drawing the Outdoors,’ led by curator Joachim Homann, scheduled for September 26, 2026.
