Duran was born in Kadıköy 140 years ago today.
The museum’s tribute describes the artist as known both for his painting and his calligraphy.
The tribute remembers Duran through verses by İbnülemin Mahmud Kemal İnal. The quoted verse praises Duran’s painting by comparing its quality with that of European painters.
