Luna Mahoux’s ‘If you don’t make it louder they won’t hear us’ to open in September

Luna Mahoux’s exhibition is scheduled to open on Friday, September 18, 2026, with the venue opening to visitors from 6 pm. The opening itself is scheduled for 7.30 pm.

The exhibition is listed as running from September 19 through November 22, 2026.

Mahoux addresses experiences of belonging and community through photography. She is a Belgian artist, filmmaker and curator who graduated in Painting from La Cambre and later studied at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains.

Her work combines archives, memory and Afro-diasporic communities, creating immersive narratives where image, sound and culture intersect. She directed her first short documentary, ‘The Other Queen of Memphis,’ exploring the legacy of rap among Black women in Memphis.

The film is also described as a lyrical portrait of hip-hop artist La Chat and as a loving tribute to, and celebration of, an underappreciated performer. The three exhibitions are the result of various relationships and dialogues involving newly created and existing artworks.
