Phoebe Collings-James’s exhibition ‘Let this be the anchor’ is scheduled for 19 September to 22 November 2026. The opening is set for Friday, 18 September 2026. The exhibition is realised in cooperation with Künstler:innenhaus Bremen.
In the exhibition, Collings-James addresses experiences of belonging and community through ceramics. The three exhibitions are the result of various relationships and dialogues involving newly created and existing artworks, and they are shaped by engagement with visible and invisible structures and systems within society, the built environment, and the art world.
Collings-James was born in London in 1987, lives and works in London, and completed her studies in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in London. Her ceramics studio, Mudbelly, began as a personal research project and has since grown into a shop and teaching platform offering free ceramics classes for Black people in London, taught by Black ceramicists.
Annette Amberg, director of Kunsthaus Glarus, was planning two solo exhibitions: one with Collings-James, a London-based artist who works with ceramic forms, and the other with Luna Mahoux, a Brussels-based artist who works with digital images sourced from social media.
