This September, MOCAD kicks off its 20th-year museum-wide exhibition, '20 Years of MOCAD: A Practice of Multiplicity — Part I.'
Parts II–VI open on November 4, 2026, as the celebration expands throughout MOCAD’s Julia Reyes Taubman Building. The November expansion includes 'Artist as Architect,' 'Detroit as Material' and 'A Practice of Multiplicity.'
The exhibition explores the artists, ideas, communities and relationships that have shaped MOCAD over the past 20 years.
Artists named include Amna Asghar, Kevin Beasley, Sanford Biggers and Dara Birnbaum. The roster also includes Arthur Jafa, KAWS, Mike Kelley, Glenn Ligon and Kara Walker.
