The special exhibition 'VIDSYN – ny fynsk kunst' is scheduled to run from 19 September 2026 to 24 January 2027. The exhibition is being made in collaboration with 23 young artists connected to Funen.
The artists share an interest in nature, understood broadly to include mythical nature, urban nature, human nature and the moods of the landscape. With nature as its shared theme, the exhibition presents current contemporary art in many different media and forms, from painting to installations.
Alongside its focus on nature, the project aims to create a living artist community partly modeled on the circle that formed around Johannes and Alhed Larsen’s home in Kerteminde. In the early 1900s, young artists travelled to Kerteminde for inspiration from the Funen painters, and the Larsens’ home became a natural gathering point.
