The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Library of Virginia will present ‘Art in Literature: The Mary Lynn Kotz Award’ on Friday, September 18, from 6 to 8 pm.
Held in Reynolds Lecture Hall at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, the event will recognize ‘Wild Thing: A Life of Paul Gauguin’ as this year’s winning book. Its author, Sue Prideaux, will give a presentation on the book.
Sponsored by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Library of Virginia, the Mary Lynn Kotz Award recognizes an outstanding book published in the previous year that is written primarily in response to one or more works of art and demonstrates literary quality as a creative or scholarly work.
A book signing and reception in the Marble Hall will follow the program. Tickets cost $5 for museum members and Library of Virginia members, and $8 for general admission. A livestream will also be available.
