The Drawing Center has released ‘Certainly an Act: Works on Paper by Pope.L’, the 162nd edition of its Drawing Papers series. The paperback publication, available in 2026, measures 6 by 9 inches and was designed by Pacific.

The fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition ‘Certainly an Act: Works on Paper by Pope.L’, on view at The Drawing Center in New York from June 26 through September 27, 2026. Rebecca DiGiovanna, Assistant Curator, and Isabella Kapur, Assistant Curator of Research, edited the volume.

Its contributors include visual artist and curator Aria Dean, writer, poet and scholar Simone White, and a conversation between Hamza Walker, Director of The Brick, and Laura Hoptman, Executive Director of The Drawing Center.

On September 10, Adam Pendleton and Theaster Gates will take part in ‘In Conversation: Adam Pendleton and Theaster Gates: Honoring and Remembering Pope.L’, from 6:30 to 8 PM. ASL interpretation will be available for the event.
