The last cohort of the year started their residency earlier this month. Artists Abigail Lucien and Louis-Charles Dionne are working in the foundry cohort, while the pottery cohort includes artists Sharif Farrag and Jason S. Yi.
The artists will also be joined by Yale School of Art Fellow A.Y. Wang, as the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, in collaboration with the Yale School of Art and Kohler Co., pilots a three-month Arts/Industry fellowship from September through December 2026.
The fellowship gives a recent Yale School of Art graduate an opportunity to work in the Arts/Industry Pottery studio within Kohler Co.’s manufacturing facility in Kohler, Wisconsin.
The Arts/Industry residency began in 1974, and hundreds of artists have benefited from the artist residency since its beginning.
Artists need not have experience working with clay or metal, but the program requires an interest in adapting industrial processes to their practice and an openness to the factory environment.
