Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea will dedicate a gallery to Remo Salvadori as part of ‘Il Castello Incantato’ (‘The Enchanted Castle’), a 2026 project developed around the museum as an educational and civic space. The tribute, titled ‘Continuo Infinito Presente’, opens on 25 September 2026 in Room 35 on the third floor of the Edificio Castello in Rivoli, near Turin. No closing date has been announced.
The presentation was initiated in close dialogue with Salvadori and developed with the Archivio Remo Salvadori. According to the museum, the artist died while the project was being prepared. The gallery will bring together ‘La stanza delle tazze’ (1985–86), a work held in the Castello di Rivoli collection, with additional pieces lent by the Archivio Salvadori.
‘La stanza delle tazze’ is described by the museum as an important work in Salvadori’s production and a significant example of his engagement with colour and form. The work was donated to the museum by the Fondazione Marco Rivetti. The presentation will therefore combine a major object from the institution’s holdings with archival material supplied through the artist’s archive.
The tribute forms part of the new edition of ‘Il Castello Incantato’, which is curated by Marcella Beccaria, Francesco Manacorda and Paola Zanini. The project is conceived not only as an exhibition but also as an educational initiative developed with non-adult participants in the process of approaching contemporary art. Its stated model is the agora: a museum understood as a place of encounter, discussion, experience and civic learning.
For 2026, ‘Il Castello Incantato’ presents works by artists including John Baldessari, William Kentridge, Otobong Nkanga and Paola Pivi, alongside special projects by Peter Friedl and Rivane Neuenschwander. Friedl’s ‘No prey, no pay’ (2018–19) is described as a large installation inspired by pirates and their forgotten stories, while Neuenschwander’s ‘dream.lab’ draws on the creatures and monsters inhabiting children’s dreams and incorporates drawings made by local children during workshops.
Beccaria, who developed the Salvadori presentation with the artist before continuing the project with the archive and Sally Benjamin Salvadori, described his practice as a search for “the spiritual dimension in reality.” She added that Salvadori had traced “a path of rare ethical depth and coherence,” and said the gallery was intended as a tribute to an artist whose vision would continue to shine. The presentation opens at the Castello di Rivoli on 25 September 2026.
