Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea will open ‘Inserzioni: Haris Epaminonda, Christelle Oyiri, Sung Tieu’ on 25 September 2026 in the first and second floors of the Edificio Castello in Rivoli, near Turin. Curated by Francesco Manacorda, the exhibition will bring together new commissions by the three artists as the third edition of the museum’s ongoing exhibition laboratory, ‘Inserzioni’.
The project is conceived as a permanent laboratory in which contemporary artists respond to the unfinished architecture of the Castello and to the museum’s collection. The exhibition periodically transforms the museum’s rooms into a changing display, using the relationship between new work, historic interiors and existing holdings as part of its structure. No closing date has been announced.
According to the museum, Epaminonda, Oyiri and Tieu approach migration, the movement of cultural forms, identity, memory and the invisible systems shaping globalized society through markedly different artistic languages. Their projects share an interest in space as a cultural and political device. The home, the museum and architecture are treated as places where belonging, hierarchy, recollection and power accumulate.
For Haris Epaminonda, the Castello will function as a portal between the decorated Juvarra room and Casa Mollino. The project sets these two very different approaches to the construction of space into dialogue, examining how architecture can represent identity. Through fragmentation, the work opens those spaces to multiple readings and narratives. The museum’s presentation also identifies Epaminonda’s ‘Untitled #07 g/t’ from 2019 among the works associated with the exhibition.
Sung Tieu will present a new site-specific installation made for Castello di Rivoli. The work examines the forces that shape collective memory and the sense of belonging, using an architectural intervention to consider how histories become rooted in spaces, structures and lived experience. The museum lists the work as ‘Human Dignity Shall Be Inviolable’, dated 2026, and identifies it as part of the artist’s installation ‘Ruin’ at the German Pavilion during the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.
Christelle Oyiri’s contribution takes the Memphis Pyramid as both subject and monument. Her project traces the changing fate of symbols across cinema, sculpture and installation, following the transformation of sacred architectures into commercial spectacle. It also considers how belief survives historical fractures by changing through music, popular culture and the imaginaries of the Black diaspora. The museum’s materials identify the work ‘Hauntology of an OG’, dated 2025, in connection with the presentation.
‘Inserzioni’ is supported by the Radical Commissioning Circle. The exhibition will be presented at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in Rivoli from 25 September 2026.
