Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro will hold a free open day for teachers on 5 October 2026, offering guided visits to a new exhibition drawn from the collection assembled by Arnaldo Pomodoro. The event will take place at the foundation’s Milan headquarters on Via Vigevano 3, with sessions scheduled for 4pm and 5:30pm.
The exhibition brings together works collected by Pomodoro during his lifetime, now forming part of the foundation’s holdings. According to the institution, the presentation includes works by Lucio Fontana, Gastone Novelli and Alighiero Boetti, alongside pieces by other leading figures in Italian and international art of the second half of the 20th century.
The collection is presented not only as a group of artworks but also as a record of the relationships surrounding Pomodoro’s practice. The foundation describes the exhibition as an opportunity to explore stories of friendship and collaboration connected with the works he acquired over the course of his life. The announcement places the transfer of this material into the foundation’s collection a year after the sculptor’s death, without specifying the date of his death or the exhibition’s closing date.
The 5 October open day is aimed at introducing teachers to the foundation’s educational programme for the 2026–27 school year. The guided visit will be followed by a presentation of activities developed for schools, and participants may request a certificate of attendance. The open days are free, although the foundation directs visitors to reserve a place in advance.
Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro describes its education department as working to connect contemporary art and schools through direct engagement with artworks and experimentation with artistic languages. Its programmes are designed for schools of different age groups and include guided visits, sculpture, printmaking, graphics, paper-based construction and design workshops.
The foundation’s school programmes draw on several locations and formats. At Via Vigevano 3, visitors can enter Pomodoro’s studio and take part in activities including the construction of portable sculptures. Other proposals lead students to the Labyrinth, a large walk-through sculpture installed in underground spaces on Via Andrea Solari 35, or explore Pomodoro’s work in Milan. For older students, the programme also includes visits to the De Andreis Art Foundry in Rozzano to examine lost-wax casting.
The October event follows a separate teacher open day on 3 September 2026 at Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, linked to the exhibition ‘Arnaldo Pomodoro. Una vita’, which the foundation’s announcement says is dedicated to the artist’s centenary and remains on view there through 18 October. The collection-focused open day at Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro is scheduled for Monday, 5 October, at Via Vigevano 3 in Milan.
