Nottingham Contemporary has opened applications for 'Print Fair Contemporary 2026', its annual print fair scheduled for 16–18 October 2026. The fair will begin with a launch evening on Friday 16 October, followed by public opening hours on Saturday 17 October and Sunday 18 October. Applications close on 18 August at 11.59pm.
According to the organisation’s call for entries, the fair will take place in The Space at Nottingham Contemporary and will feature more than 35 stalls spread across two floors. The event is presented as a platform for printmakers, illustrators and artists working in a range of print practices, and the organisation says it regularly draws 4,000 to 5,000 visitors. The fair is described as open to individuals, collectives and galleries.
The application notice lists a broad range of eligible disciplines, including screen print, lino print, risograph, etching, photography, digital print and original art pieces. It also includes zine makers and textile designers among the artists and makers invited to apply, with an emphasis on original design. The fair’s stall options are priced according to format, with a basic trestle-table setup available alongside wall and booth configurations for exhibitors who need display space.
The launch evening will run from 5pm to 8pm on Friday 16 October, with the bar open until 9pm. Nottingham Contemporary says the launch will include a DJ or live music, a workshop and free drinks for the first 100 visitors. The fair itself will be open on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
The call also outlines what stallholders receive as part of the fee, including a table, tablecloth and chairs, depending on the chosen option, plus marketing support through social media, printed flyers and posters, hand-to-hand flyer distribution, mailouts and website promotion. Stallholders will also receive free tea and coffee throughout the weekend, a 10% discount in the gallery shop and café, and assistance with set-up and take-down.
Nottingham Contemporary’s print fair sits alongside a separate Craft Fair Contemporary in the institution’s 2026 programme, but the current call for entry is specific to the October print fair. The organisation says applicants will be informed of the outcome within two weeks of the deadline.
