The National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires has announced the death of photographer Lucrecia Plat, describing her as an artist with a wide-ranging career in graphic media and the author of iconic portraits of writers and images of Buenos Aires nightlife.
In a message published on 20 August 2026, the museum identified Plat as “Lucrecia Plat (Buenos Aires, 1942).” The announcement did not specify the date or circumstances of her death.
The museum also said that works by Plat will soon enter its collection as donations. No details were provided about the number, format or subject matter of the works, nor about when the donation will be formally incorporated into the museum’s holdings.
