Kunsthalle Bielefeld will host 'Carte Blanche', a performance-installation by and with TANZ Bielefeld, on 11 July 2026 at 17:30. The event is set to activate the museum with dance interventions in several locations throughout the building, placing the ensemble in direct dialogue with the institution’s architecture and with works in the exhibition 'Geteilte Ansichten. Kunsthalle Bielefeld x Sammlung KiCo'.
According to the announcement, 'Carte Blanche' is conceived as both a “blank canvas” for Bielefeld-based dancers and an invitation to experience dance outside the theatre. As audiences move through the galleries and other spaces in the house, the performance is meant to create a shared experience shaped by movement, perspective and atmosphere. The museum describes encounters unfolding throughout the building, including between dance and space, artwork and viewer, and between what is shared and what is divided.
The program comes from TANZ Bielefeld, whose ensemble will “activate” the Kunsthalle with staged performance-installations. The format aligns closely with the exhibition context, which is centered on questions of sharing and separation in 'Geteilte Ansichten'. The museum’s wording suggests the evening is designed to extend the exhibition’s themes into a live, site-responsive setting rather than presenting a conventional stage performance.
Tickets for 'Carte Blanche' can be purchased in advance and are priced at 15 euros, or 7.50 euros reduced. The event listing gives the start time as 17:30 on Saturday, 11 July 2026. No end time is specified in the source material.
The performance is part of a broader run of public programming linked to 'Geteilte Ansichten. Kunsthalle Bielefeld x Sammlung KiCo'. Other listed events include 'Sip & Sketch' on 10 July 2026, a director’s tour with Kunsthalle Bielefeld director Christina Végh on 15 July 2026, and 'Farb-Familie', a family creativity workshop on 18 July 2026. Those activities are presented separately in the announcement and do not alter the main details of the TANZ Bielefeld event.
Kunsthalle Bielefeld’s announcement gives the venue as the museum itself, at Artur-Ladebeck-Straße 5 in Bielefeld, Germany. 'Carte Blanche' is scheduled there for 11 July 2026 at 17:30, with tickets available in advance.
