Konrad Winter’s exhibition ‘Getarnte Zukunft’ will open on Sunday, 20 September 2026, from 3 to 6pm in the artist’s presence, with an introduction by art historian Linda Traut.

Within the cycle, amorphous fields of colour resemble camouflage patterns when seen up close, but can be recognised as representational motifs from some distance. Winter’s paintings use automotive paint on aluminium: at close range, viewers see separate, organically shaped lacquer fields, while distance allows the colours and forms to resolve into landscapes, groups of people and city views.

The enigmatic title ‘Getarnte Zukunft’, translated as ‘Camouflaged Future’, confronts viewers with urban scenes and views of nature. It asks them to consider how they see the future, what they discover in Winter’s paintings and what they project into them.
