Tim Otto Roth’s ‘Vocal Revolutions’ is scheduled to be shown at the SCHIRN from 17 to 20 September 2026, establishing a four-day presentation for the work under that title.

Its stated structure therefore combines the number of speakers, their spherical and illuminated form, and their movement across three circular levels as elements of one installation.

The sound environment is made from sine tones and noise bands, and it addresses the generation of artificial voices and instrumental sounds through artificial intelligence. These materials and subject matter define the supplied account of the work’s sound environment: sine tones and noise bands are used in connection with voices and instrumental sounds generated through AI.

The carousel, a motif used in art, can stand for childhood and new beginnings, but it can also be associated with war, social performance and the repetitive routines of everyday life. Its predecessors served riding and combat training before it later developed into one of the world’s most popular amusement rides.
