Georges de la Tour

Georges de La Tour was a French Baroque painter who primarily worked in the Duchy of Lorraine. He is known for his religious scenes characterized by the use of chiaroscuro and candlelight illumination. His period of activity coincided with the temporary integration of Lorraine into France between 1641 and 1648.
