Jean-François Millet was a French painter and a founder of the Barbizon school. He is known for his paintings of peasant farmers and is associated with the Realism art movement. Millet created oil paintings, pastels, Conté crayon drawings, and etchings. Later in his career, he focused more on painting landscapes.
