Harvard Art Museums has announced an in-depth tour of ‘On Location: Drawing the Outdoors,’ led by curator Joachim Homann, scheduled for September 26, 2026.

A September talk announced by the Getty Villa will examine Édouard Manet’s ‘Jeanne’ (1882), focusing on Jeanne Demarsy, the model depicted in the painting, and the cultural construction of Parisian chic.

Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha will open ‘Café Society: Art and Sociability in Paris, 1855–1914’ on September 26, 2026, bringing together paintings, drawings and prints that examine the development of the French café and its influence on modern art.

Harvard Art Museums will present ‘On Location: Drawing the Outdoors,’ an exhibition of approximately 140 drawings, watercolors, and pastels by 19th-century European artists who turned to the natural world for inspiration, renewal, and artistic exploration.

The Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena will present ‘Making History: Manet’s “Execution of Maximilian” from the National Gallery, London,’ an exhibition centered on Édouard Manet’s ‘The Execution of Maximilian.’ The presentation is scheduled to open on November 13, 2026.

Dulwich Picture Gallery scheduled a talk examining links between Édouard Manet’s modern Parisian scenes and the development of American street photography.
