Galería Duque Arango is showing a selection of Latin American modern and contemporary art at its main space in Medellín, with works by Fernando Botero, Ariel Cabrera and Ana Mercedes Hoyos among others. The gallery's newsletter lists the presentation as on view until 12 September 2026 at Duque Arango Galería, Carrera 37 No 10a-34, in the El Poblado district. No opening date is published for it.

The selection draws on the gallery's own roster, which its artists catalogue sets out as a mix of represented artists and estates. Alongside Botero it lists the estates of Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Alejandro Obregón, Enrique Grau, Oswaldo Guayasamín, Omar Rayo, Fernando de Szyszlo and Leonora Carrington, and represented artists including Ariel Cabrera, David Manzur, Julio Larraz, Alejandra Aristizábal, Gustavo Vélez and Darío Ortiz, together with names such as Olga de Amaral, Wifredo Lam, Rufino Tamayo, Edgar Negret, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Julio Le Parc and Óscar Murillo. The gallery publishes no work list for the current hang, and its newsletter names only three artists before an "etc."

Two further presentations run at the same time. At Duque Arango Contemporáneo, Carrera 34 #8a-42, the group exhibition 'Se siente más como un sueño que un recuerdo' brings together the Colombian contemporary artists Azull Martínez, Néctor Mejía, Juan Posada and Limán Zúñiga in about thirty works in oil, acrylic and mixed media, with free entry. The gallery frames it around surrealist treatments of memory, landscape and daily life, and themes of refuge, territory, nature and the passage of time. In Italy, Gustavo Vélez's 'Le Dimensioni dell'Equilibrio' is on view in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, from 10 June to 20 September 2026.

Founded in Medellín in 1980, Galería Duque Arango describes more than four decades of uninterrupted programming built around the question of what it means to make art from Latin America. It says its focus falls on the major masters of Latin American art without setting aside contemporary practice, that it works with established and mid-career artists through solo and group exhibitions, and that it operates as a platform for circulation and positioning, with projects in Colombia and abroad, a presence at international fairs and sustained relationships with private collectors and institutions.

Earlier shows at the Medellín spaces this year include Andrés Moreno's 'Para: Siempre', 21 May to 6 July 2026, some forty works ranging from medium and large-format oil paintings to sculptures in cold-rolled sheet metal, resin and wood; Manuela Echeverri's 'Esporas', 5 March to 16 April 2026; and the gallery's stand at Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary, 19 to 22 March 2026.

The main gallery at Carrera 37 No 10a-34 is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday from 9am to noon, and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
