The Nolde Museum Seebüll is inviting visitors to explore Emil Nolde's art and the historic artist's garden through its regular public guided tours, which run alongside the museum's 70th annual exhibition. That exhibition, "Emil Nolde – Beziehungen zwischen Menschen, Natur und Kunst" ("Relationships Between People, Nature and Art"), is on view from 1 March to 31 October 2026 and, according to the Stiftung Seebüll Ada und Emil Nolde, traces the layered tension between people, nature and art across Nolde's paintings and watercolours.
Public interpretation is split into two recurring formats, each lasting about 45 minutes. On selected Tuesdays at 11:30, museum educators lead "Emil Nolde in Seebüll – Kunst und Leben", an introduction to the life and work of the artist couple, to the Gesamtkunstwerk Seebüll and to the current annual exhibition. On selected Thursdays at 11:30, "Ada und Emil Noldes Garten" turns to the couple's passion for plants and the design of their garden; the museum notes that this tour can be cancelled at short notice in poor weather. Both cost 5 euros on top of museum admission and are limited to 25 participants. Advance reservation is recommended, and tickets are available online or at the museum desk.
Groups can book tours at a time by arrangement. The museum says these visits suit adults, school classes and kindergarten groups and can be shaped around either the exhibition or the garden, while private tours for families, friends, clubs or travel groups are bookable as 60- or 90-minute slots. A booking form for 2026 can be downloaded from the museum's programme pages.
The museum is open from 1 March to 31 October 2026, daily and on public holidays, 10:00 to 18:00. Day tickets cost 12 euros, 8 euros reduced and for pupils from seven and students, free for children up to six, with a family ticket at 24 euros and an annual pass for Seebüll at 50 euros.
In its newsletter the museum set the tours within a wider seasonal update, reporting that the Nolde garden is in full bloom and that around 130 objects, including 57 paintings by Emil Nolde, are on view in the Nolde House. The email also flagged the 18-euro combined ticket with the Kunstmuseum in Tønder, which closes on 1 September 2026 for a modernisation expected to last about two years. The Danish museum's final opening day is 31 August 2026, and Museum Sønderjylland says it expects to reopen in June 2028, so the combined ticket can only be used up to 31 August.
One further dated event rounds out the season: a linocut course on 18 October from 13:00 to 17:00, led by Mechthild Gransow, in which participants cut their own motifs and print on different papers using several colours and the technique of the "verlorene Platte", or lost plate. The museum said places were still free when the newsletter went out.
