M+B has announced a preview of new paintings by Argentine artist Dani Kum at Casa MB Los Angeles, with the presentation available by appointment only from August 8 through September 5, 2026. The gallery describes the project as Kum’s introduction to M+B and says the selection of works will be shown in a private residence in the Hollywood Hills.

The presentation follows M+B’s broader Casa MB programming in Los Angeles, which the gallery lists alongside its other spaces and initiatives. On its website, M+B identifies the Dani Kum project as a current exhibition at Casa MB Los Angeles, and the appointment-only format places the works in a more intimate setting than a conventional gallery installation.

Kum’s paintings are presented by the gallery as intimate figurative works concerned with the emotional residue of everyday life. According to M+B, her scenes often feel at once familiar and dreamlike, creating a quiet world in which figures are suspended between memory, imagination, and lived experience. The gallery also notes that Kum works primarily in oil on canvas.

M+B’s overview emphasizes how Kum builds her compositions from personal recollections and ordinary moments, transforming them into psychologically charged images. Her figures appear absorbed in private thoughts or subtle exchanges, situated in interiors and landscapes where time seems to slow. Rather than spelling out fixed narratives, the paintings are framed as open scenes that invite viewers to project their own memories and emotions into the work.

Nostalgia is identified as central to Kum’s practice, though M+B characterizes it as a way of examining how memory shifts over time rather than simply reconstructing the past. The gallery says tenderness sits alongside uncertainty in the paintings, and intimacy alongside distance. It adds that restrained palettes, carefully orchestrated compositions, and expressive brushwork give shape to fleeting emotional states that resist easy explanation.

Born in Chaco, Argentina, in 1994, Kum lives and works in Buenos Aires. M+B says she has presented solo exhibitions throughout Argentina and Mexico and has also taken part in group exhibitions in Argentina and Spain. The gallery’s announcement does not list individual works in the preview on the overview page, but it positions the presentation as a first look at new paintings.

The exhibition is listed as on view at Casa MB Los Angeles, 612 North Almont Drive, Los Angeles, with visits by appointment only from August 8 to September 5, 2026.
