M+B has announced a forthcoming presentation of new paintings by Argentine artist Dani Kum at Casa MB Los Angeles. The preview opens on August 8, 2026 and runs through September 5, 2026, with viewings available by appointment only. The gallery describes the project as a selection of new works rather than a full exhibition, framing it as Kum’s introduction to M+B.

The presentation is built around Kum’s intimate figurative painting practice. According to the gallery, her work explores the emotional residue of everyday life and constructs a quiet world populated by characters suspended between memory, imagination, and lived experience. The paintings are described as scenes that can feel at once familiar and dreamlike, with figures absorbed in private thoughts or subtle exchanges.

M+B’s text emphasizes that Kum works primarily in oil on canvas and draws from personal recollections and ordinary moments. Those observations are transformed into psychologically charged compositions set in interiors and landscapes where time seems to slow. Rather than spelling out specific narratives, the works are presented as images that invite viewers to project their own memories and emotions into each scene.

Nostalgia is identified as central to Kum’s practice, but not as a straightforward reconstruction of the past. Instead, the gallery says her paintings examine how memory shifts over time, bringing tenderness into contact with uncertainty and intimacy with distance. The artist’s restrained palettes, carefully orchestrated compositions, and expressive brushwork are presented as the means through which these fleeting emotional states are held on the canvas.

The online overview page for the show includes examples of the works and identifies one painting, 'Comfort', from 2026, as oil on canvas measuring 27 x 20 inches. Another listed work, 'Breathe again', dates from 2025 and is also oil on canvas, at 39 x 47 inches. A third, 'We’re leaving', dates from 2026 and measures 32 x 24 inches. The page does not provide a full checklist of works, but it indicates a focused selection across varying scales.

Kum was born in Chaco, Argentina, in 1994 and lives and works in Buenos Aires, according to the gallery. M+B notes that she has held solo exhibitions at Casa Sincolores in Buenos Aires in 2025; Galería Impulso / Arte Berraco in Mexico in 2024; Dune Park in Buenos Aires in 2024; Galería Impulso in Mexico in 2023; Generala de Ases in Buenos Aires in 2022; and Corta Studios in Buenos Aires in 2021. The gallery also says she has participated in group exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Madrid, and Mar del Plata.

Casa MB Los Angeles is located in Los Angeles and the presentation is listed as a Casa MB Los Angeles exhibition. The gallery’s website places the preview under its forthcoming exhibitions section and notes that appointments can be scheduled through its booking link. The viewing period is set for August 8 through September 5, 2026.
