Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis will open its fall/winter 2026 exhibitions on September 10 with a free evening preview and public opening. The museum says members may preview the new season from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, with the public opening running from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at 3750 Washington Boulevard in St. Louis. DJ PBNJEFFY is scheduled to perform during the event.

The opening will introduce a slate of exhibitions that includes Ayana Evans: Nobody’s Gonna Love You the Way I Do, Great Rivers Biennial 2026, CAM x Counterpublic presentations devoted to Juanita McNeely and Tony Cokes, and ArtReach: Near Futures. CAM’s announcement identifies the event as the launch of these fall/winter presentations, while the museum’s exhibition pages provide the strongest context for the individual projects and artists.

Ayana Evans: Nobody’s Gonna Love You the Way I Do is billed by CAM as the first museum survey exhibition of the Brooklyn-based artist and performer. The museum says the exhibition will bring together new and recent videos, ephemera, live performances, and events that invite audience participation. Evans, originally trained as a painter, has built a performance-based practice over the last two decades, and CAM describes her work as addressing social hierarchies and inequities while making space for authenticity, humor, challenge, and collective experience. The exhibition is organized by Dean Daderko, Ferring Foundation Chief Curator, with support from Grace Early, Exhibitions Assistant.

The museum’s fall/winter schedule also includes Great Rivers Biennial 2026, featuring Vaughn Terrell Davis Jr., Lauren dela Roche, and Vincent Stemmler. CAM’s listing confirms those three artists as the participants in the latest edition of the biennial, but gives no additional curatorial text in the event notice itself. The exhibition joins the museum’s longer-running Great Rivers Biennial platform, which CAM presents as part of its exhibition program.

Two additional fall/winter exhibitions connect with CAM x Counterpublic: Juanita McNeely and CAM x Counterpublic: Tony Cokes. The museum’s event announcement names both projects as part of the opening, indicating that CAM is pairing them with the rest of the seasonal lineup. The source material supplied here does not provide further descriptive text for either presentation beyond the exhibition titles and artists’ names, so no additional details can be verified from the event listing.

ArtReach: Near Futures is also included in the September 10 opening. CAM’s announcement lists the project alongside the other fall/winter exhibitions, placing it within the same evening’s rollout. The museum notes that reservations are not required for the public opening and that members interested in the preview should contact members@camstl.org for eligibility information.

The fall/winter opening follows the close of CAM’s spring/summer season and a period of installation beginning August 10. CAM says regular hours resume on September 11. For the September 10 event, the museum’s published schedule keeps the focus on the exhibition openings themselves, with the member preview, public reception, and DJ performance unfolding over the course of the evening.
