Fukuoka Art Museum will mark Moomin Day on August 9 with a set of limited-time visitor promotions tied to its special exhibition 'Tove and the Moomins: Searching for the Something Special'. The museum says the day’s activities will run at the exhibition venue on the museum’s second floor from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with last admission 30 minutes before closing.
The event is framed as a one-day campaign around the museum’s current special exhibition, which opened on July 4 and is scheduled to continue through August 30, 2026. On the museum’s event page, the institution describes the August 9 programme as a commemorative initiative for Moomin Day and invites visitors to take part while the exhibition is on view.
Three promotions are listed. First, visitors who arrive wearing or bringing Moomin-related goods will receive an original Fukuoka venue sticker, subject to ticket conditions and limited quantities. The museum notes that the giveaway is first-come, first-served and that the item is one per person; it is not offered to preschool children.
Second, a Fukuoka-venue exclusive drawstring bag set ticket, previously sold out, will be offered again on August 9 only. The museum says this special set will be sold together with the day ticket for 3,200 yen, with sales handled at the same-day ticket counter at the exhibition entrance. It adds that the striped drawstring bag is scheduled to be restocked in mid-August, and that the bag alone will also be sold in the shop at 1,320 yen in limited quantities.
Third, visitors who complete an exhibition questionnaire will be entered into a drawing for original exhibition merchandise. The museum says five winners will be selected from among respondents, with the questionnaire available via a dedicated code placed at the exhibition exit. Each visitor may apply once, and winners will be notified by shipment of the prize.
The promotions sit alongside the museum’s wider exhibition schedule, but the August 9 campaign is specifically linked to the Moomin show in the special exhibition room. The museum’s page identifies the location as the second-floor special exhibition gallery and presents the day’s offers as a set of participation incentives for ticketed visitors.
Fukuoka Art Museum is located in Fukuoka’s Ōhori Park and lists regular opening hours of 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from July through October.
