Kunsthuizen Amsterdam has highlighted a recent Social Sunday centred on Selwyn Senatori’s exhibition ‘My Universe’, describing the gathering as a vernissage where art, conversation and audience engagement came together. The gallery said the event brought visitors into an open discussion about Senatori’s newest works, with the artist sharing the stories, inspiration and symbolism behind the series.
The Dutch gallery’s announcement frames ‘My Universe’ as the latest expression of Senatori’s practice. According to Kunsthuizen, the new body of work connects painting with sculptural forms, using expressive lines and symbolic figures that extend from canvas into space. The gallery describes the result as a visual tension between minimalism, rhythm and meaning, presented under the heading ‘From line to presence’.
A notable part of the Social Sunday was a live recording of ‘De Kunst Cast’ with Pelle Samhoud. Kunsthuizen said the podcast session formed one of the afternoon’s highlights and captured the atmosphere of the event, which the gallery characterised as a meeting point for art and conversation. The podcast is expected to appear on Spotify, allowing those who were unable to attend to hear the discussion later.
