The Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato will present the second concert in its new collaboration with the Accademia Musicale Chigiana on 13 August 2026, bringing violist Sào Soulez-Larivière together with the Chigiana talents from the Viola course. The performance is scheduled for 9:15 pm in the Sala Grande and runs until 10:30 pm, according to the centre’s event listing.
The concert is part of the CHIGIANA International Festival & Summer Academy 2026 and follows an earlier programme in the same series on 9 August. The Pecci’s own event page says the two concerts inaugurate the new collaboration between the art centre and the Siena-based music academy, extending the Chigiana’s summer programme into the Prato institution’s live-events calendar.
Soulez-Larivière is identified on the event page as a French-Dutch violist. He appears with the ensemble of students from the Viola course, which is taught by Tabea Zimmermann and Soulez-Larivière. The performers listed include Vincenzo Calcagno, Nicole Gedler Escalona, Curtis Lau, Ana León Pérez, Seoyeon Ryu, Ayaka Taniguchi, Alessandra Pierson Yang and Xunyu Zhou.
The programme spans works by Julia Wolfe, Missy Mazzoli, Steve Reich and Johann Sebastian Bach. The site lists Julia Wolfe’s 'Cloth', Missy Mazzoli’s 'Tooth and Nail', Steve Reich’s 'Cello Counterpoint' in an arrangement for viola by Soulez-Larivière, and Bach’s 'Suite n. 5 in do minore BWV 1001'. The centre describes the set as moving between contemporary music and the broader repertory.
Ticketing information differs slightly across the pages, but both confirm the concert as a Chigiana collaboration hosted by the Pecci in Prato. The event page for 13 August notes that entry is by ticket, while the newsletter teaser published by the centre highlights the performance as a concert at 9:15 pm. The linked ticketing page directs visitors to the Chigiana website for purchase.
The Accademia Musicale Chigiana, founded in Siena in 1932 by Count Guido Chigi Saracini, is presented by the Pecci as one of the most prestigious international institutions devoted to advanced musical training. The academy says it has welcomed young musicians from around the world for more than ninety years, with masterclasses led by major performers on the international scene. The August concerts at the Sala Grande place that educational model in a public programme at the Prato art centre.
