The Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga is extending its exhibition programming with a series of theatrical guided visits to Los Ribalta y el barroco naturalista, offering visitors an immersive encounter with the world of Francisco and Juan Ribalta. The sessions, announced by the museum for July, September and October 2026, are designed to bring the exhibition’s themes to life through live performance, specialist interpretation and a nighttime setting.
According to the museum, the visits recreate the creative environment of the Ribalta workshop and focus on the religious iconography of saints and biblical scenes associated with the father-and-son artists. The format pairs the performance of the Malaga-based company Eventos con Historia with art guide Gloria López, aiming to help audiences explore key aspects of Baroque naturalism within the exhibition space.
The activity is rooted in the museum’s broader role as a civic and educational institution that combines scholarship, public programming and access to the collection. By adding theatrical mediation to a historical art exhibition, the museum is positioning interpretation as part of the visitor experience rather than an afterthought.
