Bottleneck Gallery lists Matt Ferguson’s 'Transformers: Megatron vs. Optimus Prime' as a limited fine art print set

Bottleneck Gallery has put Matt Ferguson’s 'Transformers: Megatron vs. Optimus Prime' up for sale as a fine art giclée edition, with the print listed at 36 by 18 inches and hand-numbered in an edition of 200. The gallery’s email announcement says the release went on sale at 12PM ET on July 27, and the print is priced at $50, or $95 for the set that includes the companion 'Transformers: Hot Rod'.

The newsletter frames the release as part of a broader new batch of prints from Ferguson and other artists, but the main focus is Ferguson’s return to 'The Transformers: The Movie'. Bottleneck Gallery describes the artist as a major fan of the franchise and says the new set draws from some of his favorite moments in the film. The email specifically references scenic images from the movie, including Hot Rod and Daniel sharing a moment and the dam fight, while the item singled out in the news item centers on Megatron and Optimus Prime.

According to the source material, the fine art giclée is one of several formats Bottleneck Gallery is offering for Ferguson’s Transformers imagery. Alongside the standard print, the email lists a 'Transformers: Megatron vs. Optimus Prime - Multi-Layer Acrylic' edition and a 'Transformers: Megatron vs. Optimus Prime - Aluminum Print'. The acrylic version is described as archival pigment on multiple layers of acrylic panel, three layers, measuring 24 by 12 inches, and limited to 50. The aluminum version is archival pigment on a 2mm-thick aluminum panel, also 24 by 12 inches, and limited to 35.

The release is positioned as a fan-driven tribute rather than a conventional gallery exhibition. Bottleneck Gallery’s text says Ferguson’s love and fandom are evident in his Transformers work, and it presents the new prints as a “joy to behold.” No separate exhibition dates or venue-specific run are given in the source material beyond the July 27 online sale time.

Bottleneck Gallery also notes that the Transformers items are being issued in coordinated editions, with the set pricing suggesting collectors can buy both the 'Megatron vs. Optimus Prime' and 'Hot Rod' giclées together. The gallery’s listing gives the standard print a hand-numbered edition of 200, which keeps it in the same limited-edition format typical of the gallery’s pop-culture print releases.

The email announcement was paired with another unrelated release, Michael Del Mundo’s 'Star Wars: Darth Vader #2', but the two projects are separate in the source material. For Ferguson, the available formats and edition sizes are the concrete details attached to the launch: a 36-by-18-inch fine art giclée at $50, a set price of $95, and additional acrylic and aluminum editions issued in smaller numbered runs.
