Fort Smith Regional Art Museum has announced its August 'Paint 'N Sip' session, a hands-on acrylic painting event led by Petra Radcliffe and set for August 21, 2026, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The class will guide participants through a recreation of Peter Max’s 'Umbrella Man with Rainbow Sky,' continuing the museum’s monthly education program that pairs artmaking with a social setting.

According to the museum’s event listing, all art supplies will be provided. The session is open to painters ages 16 and older, while participants 21 and up may bring beer or wine to sip during the class. The museum also notes that attendees should arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to get settled in before the workshop begins.

The event is part of RAM’s broader education offerings, which the museum says include professional art workshops, guided tours, free Saturday drop-in art projects and monthly 'Paint ‘N Sip' sessions. RAM describes itself as a local institution in downtown Fort Smith with five galleries, a permanent collection and programming that serves community members of different ages and backgrounds.

On its website, the museum says the monthly 'Paint ‘N Sip' series is offered on Fridays and is intended to make art instruction accessible in an informal format. The August edition will be held at the museum’s address at 1601 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Ticket pricing listed for the event ranges from $25 to $35.

The museum’s announcement frames the class as an opportunity to recreate a work by Peter Max, whose 'Umbrella Man with Rainbow Sky' will serve as the model for the session. Radcliffe, identified by the museum as RAM’s own instructor, will lead the class step by step in acrylics on canvas.

The August event follows a month in which the museum says its regular 'Paint ‘N Sip' programming is paused for July. RAM’s email newsletter also promotes the class alongside other education offerings, while the museum’s main site presents 'Paint ‘N Sip' as one part of a wider calendar that includes exhibitions and free public programs.

Fort Smith Regional Art Museum is located in downtown Fort Smith and says general admission is free. Its website lists museum hours as Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., with the 'Paint ‘N Sip' event scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026.
