The Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín will mark its 48th anniversary with 'MAMM Fest 2026', a three-day festival scheduled for August 14-16, 2026, at the museum in Medellín. The museum says the event will transform its spaces into multiple music environments, bringing together local DJs, live sets and a program that ranges across experimental music, electronic music, reggaeton, disco, funk and cumbia.
According to the museum’s announcement, the festival is designed as both a celebration and a form of support for the institution’s activities. The museum frames the event as a way to invite the public to “enter, walk, dance and contribute” during a weekend that takes over the museum while exhibition cycles are between installations. The pre-sale page states that each contribution supports MAMM’s programs.
The event is being promoted as a broad, community-oriented gathering rather than a conventional museum fundraiser. The museum’s materials describe the festival as offering “activities for all publics” alongside different musical parties, with food trucks set up in the Plazoleta MAMM and a pop-up market called 'Mercado Antitattoo'. The market is presented as a space for utilitarian art, design and rare objects, and the pre-sale page further describes it as including author clothing, second-hand garments and upcycling, as well as cassettes, records, analog cameras and photographic film.
The schedule released by the museum spreads the festival across several museum spaces, including the Nave central, the Plazoleta MAMM, the Quinto piso and the Corredor interno. On Friday, August 14, 'Avant Garde' will occupy the Quinto piso from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with experimental music and four projects plus a VJ, according to the program posted on the museum’s site.
Saturday, August 15, features two separate party formats. 'Bien bueno' will take place on the Quinto piso from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with disco, funk and house, while 'Perro Negro' is scheduled for the Nave central from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. as a reggaeton party. The festival’s food-truck zone and pop-up market will also run across the three days.
On Sunday, August 16, the museum’s program includes 'Bailatón para todas las edades' in the Nave central from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., described as games and a live orchestra, followed by 'Mucha Cumbia' on the Quinto piso from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with live cumbia and DJs. The museum’s pre-sale page lists a single contribution of $200,000 for access to all three days, with pre-sale available until July 31 and 196 places available at the time the page was published.
