Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) will host the opening of Zoë Buckman’s ‘Show Me Your Bruises, Then,’ featuring a talk between the exhibition artist, Zoë Buckman, and PAMM Associate Curator Maritza M. Lacayo. The artist talk will take place on November 5, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at PAMM and will be streamed live on PAMM’s YouTube channel.
‘Show Me Your Bruises, Then’ is a 2021–22 three-channel color video installation with sound that lasts 17 minutes. The conversation will address Buckman’s practice and how it brings attention to the experiences of survivors of domestic violence, a key focus of the artist’s new three-channel video installation at PAMM.
Before the talk, community tables will provide resources on domestic violence and sexual assault.
Lacayo is an associate curator at PAMM and has curated numerous exhibition projects at the museum, including ‘This is America: Selections from PAMM’s Collection,’ ‘Elliot & Erick Jiménez: El Monte,’ and ‘José Parlá: Homecoming,’ among others. She is the organizer of the ‘Zoë Buckman: Show Me Your Bruises, Then’ exhibition at PAMM.
Buckman, born in 1985 in Hackney, East London, is a British, Jewish multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, textiles, lens-based media, ceramics, neon, and painting. Her work explores themes of intersectional feminism, mortality, and equality.
