The Teloglion Foundation of Art in Thessaloniki will open the exhibition of works from the 6th Panhellenic Painting Competition held in memory of painter Loukas Venetoulias on 15 July 2026. Titled 'Water A & Omega', the annual competition exhibition runs through 30 September 2026 and is open to the public free of charge.
According to the foundation’s announcement, this year’s edition focuses on water as a fundamental element for human life and for the planet, linking the subject to contemporary challenges and climate change. The institution says the theme is approached not only as a source of life but also as a force of destruction, and as a subject that has long inspired art through its physical, symbolic, spiritual and mythological dimensions.
The exhibition presents the works of participants in the competition and is described as an open, polyphonic dialogue around the theme. The foundation says the entries use different modes of expression and personal narratives to explore the contradictions, transformations and multiple meanings of water as natural presence, symbol, memory and a field for reflection.
The show is curated by Nikos Vianas and Rafaela Nika. The award announcement is scheduled for the closing of the exhibition in September, with the exact date to be announced later.
The Teloglion Foundation’s website lists the exhibition at the Teloglion Foundation of Art of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, on Agiou Dimitriou 159A in Thessaloniki. Exhibition hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 to 14:00, and Wednesday from 9:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00.
