Museo Reina Sofía Explores Inspirations Behind a Dalí Screen

In 2025, the museum incorporated Salvador Dalí’s 'Biombo' (1921–1922) into its collections.

The exhibition explores the emotional and political dimensions of Gonzalez-Torres’s work. The artist’s vital and artistic journey is marked by beauty, grief, paradox and participatory power.

Bringing together more than thirty works, including works reproduced in the journal, the display places Picasso in dialogue with Henri Rousseau, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and Max Ernst.

A handwritten dedication by the poet is visible in the drawing’s upper-right area. Lorca gave the drawing to Josefina Attard, a close friend also known as ‘Fina de Calderón,’ whom he nicknamed ‘the girl with crutches.’
