On 23 October 2026, from 18.30 to 20.30, exhibiting artist Libita Sibungu will perform the exhibition’s vocal score ‘un-settle-un-stable’ with collaborators Maria Christoforidou, Caroline Deeds, Catherine Lucktaylor and Angeline Morrison, marking the closing week of her solo exhibition ‘ZED LOVE’ at The Exchange.

The performance will be followed by an in-conversation between Sibungu and sound artist Neil Rose, who worked together on the realisation and composition of the exhibition’s sound work.

The title of each photogram refers to the process used in the series to sonify matter, including sand, crystals, hair and thorns, as a way to speak to and with gaps in history.

The exhibition is rooted in research to better understand African diasporic, working-class, mixed and multi-racial experiences in rural Britain. Sibungu draws on her own British-Namibian-Cornish heritage to open up complex dialogues of thought about racialised identities.

‘ZED LOVE’ was commissioned by Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, supported by a Creative Associate Placement at Arts University Plymouth and funded by Arts Council England.
