Four lectures on Joan Miró scheduled in Perpignan from 9 to 16 October 2026

From 9 to 16 October 2026, four lectures at the auditorium of the Central Media Library of Perpignan will address Joan Miró. The cycle of lectures is presented in conjunction with the temporary Miró exhibition at the Hyacinthe Rigaud Art Museum.

On Friday, 9 October, at 6:00 PM, Salima Hellal will give a lecture titled ‘Joan Miró and Josep Llorens Artigas, the adventure of ceramics’. Hellal is chief curator in charge of Works of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon.

On Wednesday, 14 October, at 6:00 PM, Thierry Dufrêne will give a lecture titled ‘Miró and Dalí: two Catalan artists at the heart of surrealism’. Dufrêne is an art historian and professor of art history at the University of Paris Nanterre.

Laura Goedert is curator of the digital exhibition ‘Miró Atmosphere’, presented at the Rolin Museum in Autun in 2020–2021, while Sophie Bernard is curator of the exhibition ‘Joan Miró: A Blaze of Signs’, presented at the Grenoble Museum in 2024.

The lectures are scheduled for 6pm on Friday 9, Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October, are intended for audiences aged 15 and over, last approximately one hour, and are free to attend without reservation. They will take place at the auditorium of the Central Media Library, 15 rue Émile Zola, 66000 Perpignan.
