‘The Statue of Liberty from Bartholdi to Warhol’ is on view through January 3, 2027.

Presented during the 250th anniversary year of the United States of America and co-organized with the Denver Art Museum, the exhibition highlights the Statue of Liberty’s continued relevance in American visual culture and traces the evolution of its image through art from the 1870s to the present.

The exhibition examines the statue’s representations in visual culture as an artistic muse, a pop-culture icon, and a symbol of immigration, patriotism, and resistance.

Nearly 100 artworks and objects by more than 70 artists, including painters and sculptors, show how the statue’s recognizable form has been represented over the past 150 years.

The museum is inviting homeschool students and their families to explore how artists boldly assert their creative freedom and create an artwork inspired by the exhibition, while current educators are invited to tour the exhibition and take part in an art activity inspired by it.
