The Museu del Cau Ferrat marked El Greco’s birth anniversary by highlighting two paintings in its collection.
The post identifies El Greco as born in Candia, Greece, in 1541, and as having died in Toledo in 1614.
One of the paintings is ‘Magdalena penitent’, dated to around 1590. The other is ‘Les llàgrimes de Sant Pere’, dated to around 1600.
The two paintings were acquired by Santiago Rusiñol.
