Prospect 2026 features wide-ranging work by Sahar Khoury (b. 1973), Tania Franco Klein (b. 1990), Dionne Lee (b. 1988), Candice Lin (b. 1979), and Sergio Miguel (b. 1992), five artists whose practices span sculpture, photography, video, installation, and painting and reveal new directions in contemporary art practice. The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, with funding provided by MCASD’s International and Contemporary Collectors.
Each year, MCASD organizes ‘Prospect’, an exhibition that highlights new artworks proposed for acquisition, making the presentation an annual setting for artworks put forward for consideration.
The five potential acquisitions are installed throughout MCASD’s collection galleries, where they engage in dialogue with the Museum’s existing holdings and are presented within the spaces devoted to the collection.
Since 1985, contributions from MCASD’s International and Contemporary Collectors, known as the Director’s Circle, have brought 145 works into the Museum’s collection, while a portion of the Director’s Circle donation is allocated to the acquisition fund.
