Mumok is presenting ‘Terminal Piece’ as a group exhibition that introduces a new exhibition and collection practice.
‘Terminal Piece’ is an exhibition in five acts centred on Kate Millett’s 1972 installation of the same name. Millett is identified in the exhibition material as an artist, activist and author.
At the centre of the exhibition is the act of looking itself. This places looking, understood as the act of viewing, in the foreground of the exhibition’s stated approach.
Fatima Hellberg and Lukas Flygare curate ‘Terminal Piece’. Their curatorial credit is attached to the exhibition built around Millett’s installation and its five-act structure.
The featured work is Kate Millett’s ‘Terminal Piece’, dated 1972, and it is held by the Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien. The work’s title, date and collection are identified together in the exhibition information.
