The programme runs from Saturday 7 to Sunday 22 November 2026 and is part of EFG London Jazz Festival. It is framed around the centenaries of John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
The series combines archival television, experimental film and rare documentaries to explore the myriad of ways in which jazz and film co-exist.
The annual event unearths rarities from the television archives, with the centrepiece of this year's programme a celebration of Miles Davis' career.
The programme brings together three very different films drawing on both the music and legacy of the legendary musician John Coltrane.
Louis Malle's crime thriller 'Ascenseur pour l'Échafaud' ('Elevator to the Gallows') is one of the few films for which Davis composed the score. The series also includes two landmark films that trace the roots of the blues and celebrate the enduring spirit of jazz.
