The 'Reci: SkulptUra' programme, presented in the Museum of African Art’s garden, has been extended until 11 October 2026.
The programme presents artistic responses by three young local artists to the exhibition 'Reci: Art – Otpad kao resurs': Marko Blanuša’s 'Breme sveta na mojoj glavi,' Petar Božović’s 'Plastično doba' and Damjan Božović’s 'Bez glasa.'
'Reci: SkulptUra' is an accompanying programme to the current exhibition 'Reci: Art – Otpad kao resurs,' curated by Ivana Vojt.
The exhibition presents utilitarian objects, jewellery and souvenirs made from waste materials in sub-Saharan Africa, addressing the growing amount of waste and its possible transformation into a valuable resource. It opened on 22 April 2026, Earth Day.
Blanuša, Petar Božović and Damjan Božović all graduated in applied sculpture from Belgrade’s Faculty of Applied Arts. Their sculptural interpretations treat waste as a burden on humanity and as material that reveals contemporary habits, weaknesses and responsibilities. They present accumulation not only as a physical act but also as a symbolic sign of the present.
