The Architecture & Design Museum has newly published ‘Syvenny’, a platform that brings together the museum’s digital content. The publication places the museum’s digital material within a single platform, described through its name, ‘Syvenny’.
Its contents include articles, videos, interviews, research materials and selections from the museum’s collections. The platform therefore brings together written, filmed, conversational, research-based and collection-related material in the forms identified by the museum.
‘Syvenny’ invites users to find their way to the museum’s materials by reading, listening, researching and delving into them. Its stated invitation covers articles, videos, research and selections made from the collections, with the platform presenting these activities as ways to engage with the material.
Users can search by keyword or choose an area of interest to reach the materials. The platform’s search route is thus based either on a word entered by the user or on a selected subject area.
The material includes the Architecture Speaks discussion series, which is jointly organised by Aalto University and the Architecture & Design Museum, as well as ‘Ateljeeutopioita ja pakopaikkoja: Tove Jansson ja arkkitehtuuri’, an article written by museum curator Jutta Tynkkynen. Another highlighted entry, Kaj Franck’s narrow-gauge film material, takes users to the 1950s through material connected with Franck’s substantial journey in 1956, made possible by two scholarships.
The museum says it will continue to add material, and that familiar presentations of architects will soon return to the site.
